Welcome to the world of mobile New York sports betting!
It’s here, at last.
Just after 9 a.m. ET today, New Yorkers had the first opportunity to place mobile wagers over four sports betting platforms (BetRivers, Caesars, DraftKings and FanDuel).
Those four operators cleared the statutory hurdles to be approved to operate by the New York State Gaming Commission in an announcement made Thursday.
The dawn of a new age in the largest legalized online sports betting market in the nation has begun.
And there are promotions for new bettors in New York. Among them:
- At Caesars Sportsbook New York, new users receive a free bet of $300 and first-deposit match of up to $3,000. And there is also a promo for an NBA jersey.
- At DraftKings New York, new bettors can get a 20% welcome match deposit bonus worth up to $1,000.

But Thursday’s announcement that mobile betting would begin more than a month before the Super Bowl was a shocker.
