Horse racing and New York betting fans in New York received a jolt Thursday.
Caesars Sportsbook, in partnership with NYRABets, announced the launch of a new horse racing wagering mobile app, Caesars Racebook, which will debut this spring for bettors in New York and beyond.
Similar to the Caesars Sportsbook New York app, every wager placed on Caesars Racebook (iOS or Android) will earn Caesars Rewards.
The new app will utilize the NYRA Bets platform to provide bettors with pari-mutuel wagering services on top-flight horse racing content from more than 250 racetracks around the world. In addition, it will give bettors race replays, handicapping insights and more.
Caesars Sportsbook Among First Apps to Debut in NY
Caesars Sportsbook debuted in the Empire State on Jan. 8, the day the state allowed its wildly successful mobile wagering to begin. Caesars later that month entered into a partnership with the Buffalo Bills.
“Following our successful roll out of Caesars Sportsbook, we’re delighted to launch Caesars Racebook in partnership with NYRA Bets,” said Dan Shapiro, a senior vice president and chief development officer of Caesars Digital, in a news release. “NYRA conducts world-class horse racing and NYRA Bets has access to the best horse racing content from around the world, including from Caesars-operated racetracks. We’re proud to support the horse racing industry while introducing the new Caesars Racebook app and Caesars Rewards to horse racing bettors.”
In January, Caesars Sportsbook and the NYRA announced a partnership that established Caesars as an official sports betting marketing partner in New York and the title sponsor of the NYRA Turf Triple Series at Belmont Park and Saratoga Race Course.
Currently, NYRA Bets is available in 30 states and continues to expand its reach and customer base throughout the country.
“NYRA considers it a core responsibility to grow the sport by increasing consumer access to world-class horse racing both in New York and around the country,” said Dave O’Rourke, the CEO and president of NYRA. “Pairing the world-renowned Caesars brand with the rapidly growing NYRA Bets wagering platform is an ideal way to launch Caesars Racebook, which will soon deliver all the NYRA Bets tools and advantages to the Caesars customer base.”
Caesars operates racing at Harrah’s Hoosier Park and Horseshoe Indianapolis (both in Indiana), Harrah’s Philadelphia (Pennsylvania) and Eldorado Gaming Scioto Downs (Ohio).
Last year, Caesars announced plans to build and operate a Harrah’s racetrack and casino in Columbus, Nebraska. Caesars also hosts the National Thoroughbred Racing Association’s National Handicapping Championship at Horseshoe Las Vegas.
New York’s Aqueduct Winter Meet continues through Sunday, March 27.
February Numbers Up Next
Tuesday marked the two-month anniversary of New York mobile sports betting. The numbers, most know, have set national records in just about every category.
There is a new national monthly figure of $1.69 billion, which was set in January. January, of course, was only from Jan. 8 thru Jan. 31 in this case since mobile made its debut on Jan. 8.
It will be interesting to see the numbers for the first full month, February. The New York State Gaming Commission will release February numbers later this month.
