Another Strong Month in Mobile NY Sports Betting: Some Takeaways
Fact Checked by Pat McLoone

The handle and revenue numbers for New York sports betting are in for the month of November. As usual, the report is filled with interesting figures.

Here are three takeaways from November’s official figures for monthly sports wagering (mobile/retail combined), released Tuesday by the New York State Gaming Commission (NYSGC):

Mobile Handle Maintains Above $1.5 Billion

The state’s total monthly mobile handle was more than $1.553 billion, a $10.07 million increase from October’s $1.543 billion.

It was the fifth time since launch on Jan. 8 the monthly mobile handle number surpassed $1.5 billion and was the ninth time it has surpassed the $1 billion mark.

December will mark another historic milestone as overall mobile handle will surpass the $10 billion mark. Handle for New York sports apps currently is at more than $9.733 billion. Since launch, total Gross Gaming Revenue is more than $896.48 million.

FanDuel Dominant; WynnBet Highest-Ever

FanDuel NY continued its remarkable stretch of dominance in the New York space. In November the operator generated more than $646 million in mobile handle. It was the second-highest month for FanDuel ($673 million in March). FanDuel’s total mobile GGR for the month was $78.3 million.

WynnBet NY achieved its highest total handle since its Feb. 4 launch. WynnBet’s November total mobile handle was $11,521,457, eclipsing its previous high of more than $9.75 million in May.

Jets, Giants Help with Numbers

With four weeks to go in the regular season for New York NFL betting, the New York Jets and New York Giants are both in contention for a playoff berth in the AFC and NFC, respectively.

Football has played a huge part in sports wagering numbers in the state on a weekly and monthly basis and with both teams still in play for a post-season berth, this has certainly helped the sports betting market in the Empire State.

Will they hang on?
